Whidbey Island

Drop-In Meditation Class
Join us on Whidbey Island each week for meditation classes in Langley at Baby Island Community Club.

By learning to cherish others we can experience greater peace of mind and help to establish world peace in general. Through contemplating these prayers compiled by Geshe Kelsang from traditional sources, we learn to cherish others. If everyone sincerely prays to be able to cherish others, then gradually through the power of this prayer, everyone will actually cherish each other. The world will then be permanently at peace, and pure and everlasting happiness will pervade the whole world.

Folks can stay to enjoy tea and cake after.

Everyone welcome.

Join us at the Freeland Library, as we LiveStream with KMCWA to offer POWA to our local community.

Prayers of Compassion for the Deceased, Powa, is a special ceremony to help those who have recently died experience peace of mind after death and be cared for by the Buddha of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara. During this ceremony we engage in the traditional Buddhist practice of transference of consciousness in conjunction with the prayers, “Path of Compassion for the Deceased”. If you would like to attend, then it is traditional (but not required) to bring a white offering, either food, flowers, candles, etc and if you wish, we can make specific dedications for friends or relatives that have recently died.

Sat Jan 20th at 6 pm.
