Refuge Day & Ceremony
Refuge Day & Ceremony
Become Your Own Protector
with Gen Kelsang Rinzin
Saturday, May 11, 10:00am – 4:00pm (with breaks)
Buddha’s teachings are universal. In this diverse and turbulent world, his insightful and compassionate advice holds the possibility of uniting everyone, regardless of background, race, or religion. Finding refuge in these teachings, the Dharma, we gradually build stable peace in our mind by increasing our positive minds and freeing ourselves from delusions. Through this we come to experience actual inner protection from all pain and problems, as well as the ability to protect others.
During this event, Gen Rinzin will explain and guide us in the inspiring mind of refuge in the Three Jewels. Dharma is like the medicine, Buddha the doctor, and Sangha the skillful nurses — together they help us finally to heal our minds and in that way heals our world.
We also have the opportunity to go for refuge formally in a beautiful ancient ceremony consisting of prayers and guided meditations through which we enter the Buddhist path. And if you are simply seeking wisdom and inspiration on your spiritual journey, this teaching and ceremony will bring the blessings and protection of Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha into your quest.
Everyone is welcome!
